BAD Company Brewing Site Survey


Our service engineer was contracted to travel on-site to conduct an investigation with seam leakages on Comac Monoblock 8-1.

A thorough check of the seamer was carried out to ensure no infeed rails and guides were causing the knock down flange and none were identified. However, upon closer examination the can seemed to ‘clip’ the end guide plate just before the can make up point.

Our engineer then replicated a knock down flange fault by damaging a can flange prior to entry to the seamer and this gave the exact same fault as the faulty cans that were previously found during the production run. With this in mind and the fact that no flange damage was observed being caused by the machine, it was concluded that the problem had been caused by existing damaged cans leaving the de-palletiser and entering the production process.
